he 1990s were a great time to be alive. The United States was done with many areas of the 1980s and things were looking better. The automotive industry had been plagued by horrible body designs and even worse mechanical issues. The 1990s looked like a time for revival for most of the car manufactures but unfortunately some strange creations still managed to eek their way onto assembly lines and then to dealer’s lots.
Many of these vehicle featured crazy, out of this world, bodies that looked like they were designed by a team of blind people. Thankfully most of them weren’t around for very long and the public made sure to let manufactures know just how goofy these offerings were by simply not buying them. Nothing speaks louder to executives than the almighty dollar after all.
Chances are you won’t recognize some of these strange automotive creations from the 1990s so we but the worst of them on the list below. Oddly enough some of these cars have gained cult followings and are considered collectors items. Here’s 10 of the weirdest cars from the 1990s.
10. Isuzu Impluse
This little sports coupe was based of the General Motor Geo Storm platform and featured a suspension designed by the geniuses at Lotus. Despite the big names behind the car the Impulse never faired very well. The engine was underpowered and couldn’t keep up with the suspension. There was an even bigger problem though. People couldn’t make heads or tails of the car’s design. The body didn’t flow very well and the partial flip up head lights made the car look dopey and even sad. The Isuzu Impulse was pulled from the market in 1992 after just two years on dealer’s lots.
