Hot rods on show for Goulburn Shakedown
ROBIN Genero has spent the better part of a year tinkering with his prized 1952 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe sedan.
On Sunday, he showed off his reworked vehicle to the world.
The Bundanoon car-lover was among dozens of exhibitors who docked their stunning vehicles on Goulburn High School grounds for the city’s leg of the Australian Street Rod Federation Shakedown.
All money raised from entry fees and market stall rates goes to the coffers of Goulburn High School’s P&C committee.
Genero was thrilled to be able to both showcase his Chevrolet and support a local institution.
“I’ve always had old cars. It’s a lifelong hobby and passion,” he said.
“This one’s got a complete new driveline, a new V8 engine, new automatic gearbox, new differential, new front suspension, new rear suspension.
“Bodywise, it’s all original – original colour, original interior.
“It’s a lovely car. It combines the styling of the 1950s with the modern drivetrains of today. It looks like an old car, but it drives like a modern car.”
