Harford’s Romancing the Chrome car show sets records
After having to reschedule its date because of spring snow and sleet the previous weekend, Romancing the Chrome celebrated its fifth anniversary in beautiful weather in Jarrettsville on Saturday with over 270 automobiles exhibited and more and more than 3,000 spectators attending.
“It was phenomenal; we broke records,” said Rebecca Jessop, foundation director of the Harford County Library, the event’s co-organizer with the Jarrettsville Lions Club. The skies were sunny and temperatures were in the 70s for the six-hour show.
Romancing the Chrome raised $13,000, which will be divided between the Harford County Public Library Foundation and the Jarrettsville Lions Club.
Keene Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram served as the headlining sponsor of the free, family friendly event which also featured music, contests, food by Pond View Farm & Pit Crew, Pit & Pinchers and Jarrettsville Creamery and Deli and a beer garden.
Waste Industries returned as the event’s premiere sponsor. Supporting sponsors were Jarrettsville Creamery & Deli, Jarrettsville Federal Savings & Loan Association and 103.7 WXCY. Contributing Sponsors included APG Federal Credit Union, B.E. Miller & Son Septic Services, Carl’s Door Service, Inc., Jacks Small Engines, Jarrettsville Pharmacy and North Harford Liquors.
