9. Change Your Brake Pads
Proper brake system maintenance is a must no matter the age or make of your vehicle. Brake pad replacement requires knowledge of the system you are working on and doesn’t end with just swapping out the pads. The system will need bled before use. This is a self fix that needs to only be tried by those who are mechanically inclined. Also, brake pad wear can just be the beginning of braking issues. Often times rotors and or calipers might need to be replaced as well. If you don’t know what to look for we suggest you don’t try this one at home. Some newer vehicles have certain fuses that need to be removed before the brake system can be safely serviced. Failure do so can lead to serious injury and loss of appendages.
